  • Ropeways are so fun....I still remember my first ropeway ride @ Nandankanan....! Bird view to that gorge was really good....moss/shrub covered tomb - i like moss a lot.
I also like taking photos of my feet on the surfaces where i feel some sort of bonding or vibrations...don't know what was yr motive :-)
    Good photos....!

  • Nandankanan is one place I'd really like to go too.

The first few photos were taken from inside the cable car and the glass was all messy.

As for the foot-foto, I was just walking down the Sayaji Bagh looking through the earlier photos on the LCD (hence obviously, the lens was pointing downwards) and I turned the dial to the shoot mode and I saw that the khaki trousers, tan shoes, khaki ground looked like a cool combination (uh..err..trying not to sound pompous). So I stopped, took a photo and proceeded !

P.S.: Looks like you've been to 10x the number of places I've been to.

  • PS- Nah not really...just walked a decade more than you on this earth so may be that's why :-)

btw- u can be pompous that was some nice shoes n color. Did notice that as i like collecting accessories a lot hwever didn't wanted to comment just on shoes lol ...& it was unusual pic so wanted to know the idea behind the same...!
What was that tomb..or was it a tomb...that was nice pic as well..!

  • Aah, I hope to replicate your voyages within the next decade of my life ! Amen !

I am not sure what it is. It is supposed to be the palace of a robber who stole from the city of Baroda and hid all his wealth in that place. This is what I heard from the locals and might just be a fairytale.

  • Hi Guns,
    Happy Diwali to you. Enjoy

By Blogger Prashanth CM, at 1:00 pm

  • Bendtherulz :Oh yeah...I've read my fair share of Enid Blyton novels to be absolutely in love with the idea of getting into some castle and finding hidden clues to some secret gateway !!

Shark & HP :Thanks ! The first few photos were taken from inside the cable car which had dirty windows hence the spots on the photos. I love the colour of the palace and the university building though. These old buildings just had some CHARACTER which is absent these days. All we have are just STRUCTURES of concrete with no heart associated with them.

Prashanth : Happy Diwali to you too.

HAPPY DIWALI to all blokes who are reading this. You all have a rockin' Diwali and for these 10 days, just forget about the lows in life.

    DISCONNECT THE DARKNESS !

  • hey there belatd happy diwali. hope u enjoyed:)

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:44 am

  • Zii : OH ! How could I muff up so bad? I've read about Gaumukh. In fact on my North India trip, my REAL aim in the second week solitary sojurn was to trek to Gangotri. Only after I reached Haridwar I realized that Gangotri was closed because this year the snowfall was a bit late. [:-(}Had to therefore spend 2 days in Mussoorie and take super-sucky tour bus to Dehradoon !

Reaper : HAPPY DIWALI to you too. Throw the light around !

  • Nice pictures - one more place added to my list of places to visit!

By Blogger Usha, at 5:21 pm

  • Scars :Eagerly waiting for it !!

Reaper :Oh I meant this to be just a photo post but how can I refuse a request. Here is some info on the photos:

First set of photos is the ropeway at Pavagadh, few kilometres from HALOL near BARODA in Gujrat. Pavagadh is a hill, the base of which is called Champaner. Champaner was recently added to the UNESCO's world heritage sites list. There is a very old temple atop Pavagadh build alongside a Dargah.

Second few photos are of the MS university building in Baroda.

Last 2 photos are photos of the museum close to the university. It is one of the largest museums in India and its main attraction is a MUMMY that the king bought from Egypt a long time ago.

Feel free to ask anything more you want to know about the place or directions on when/how/what to visit there.

Usha :Absolutely. If you need directions, just drop a mail.
